It's a lot of fun to grow fresh plants from cuttings for your garden or to offer plants as gifts to friends. These seven plants grow easily from cutting in soil as well as in Water. Let's go ahead to become a Pro-Gardener.

pothos-

1. Pothos/Money plant (Epipremnum aureum)

Pothos is incredibly strong. Just cut off a 4 to 6 inch piece just below a node, put it in water, and in a few weeks you'll see roots start to grow. Ideally, a money plant should be kept in the south-east direction. As this is the direction of Lord Ganesha, it is known to bring health, peace, and prosperity.

2. Spider plants/Ribbon plant (Chlorophytum comosum)

It make new plants called "babies" that can be planted in soil or in water without a pot. They quickly grow roots.

Put a stem in water or soil that has at least one node and leaf cut into it. Philodendrons grow well and quickly go to roots. Philodendrons improves air quality in the home. Trim leaves from 4 to 6 inch stems, then submerge them in soil or water. Coleus is a very robust plant that grows swiftly.

Succulent roots and leaves should be placed in soil after being allowed to dry for a day or two. New plants will sprout from the roots that extend out from the base.

ENGLISH IVY

6. English ivy (Hedera helix)

Trim a 4 to 6 inch long stem with a few buds and leaves on it. Its roots take root quickly in both water and soil, which makes it ideal for hanging baskets. This plant remains green throughout the year. It has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. It is also used as a herbal medicine. Ivy should be watered well.
